The January 2026 Sound and Image Concert with QIA and special guest Valterri Laurell

it was the 60th Concert. I had planned on doing it as a solo piano performance with AI images of Manolo Quintanelles aka QIA, and I wanted to a concert with PaKo Caceroles but  it had to be cancelled  and then all of a sudden it was the new year !! 2026  and i thought if not now, when but something wonderful happened right after King´s Day  ther Finnish composer, arranger and guitarist knocked on my door inquiring about the piano , we started talking , the next he came with his guitar and said ¨want to do a house concer¨and not only did he play wonderfull he offered to read add his artistry to the QIA images  and so in less than a week we put together the house concert #60  and we rehearsed and it sounded really good  and the images worked perfect with the music . Then came the concert , and we got off to a slow start and some tecnical problems , and we didnt get to  play the last videos so we continued the concert  and  ther playing was strong , and then another magical moment came when  PaKo was spontaneously joining  us on the caceroles (enamel pots) adding something wonderful to the mix  and creating a really cool trio!! And  through all this, the audience was wonderful because in spite of the difficulties they loved the images and the spontanaity and its one those things that makes listening and playing  music live a very special event. Thanks to everyone who came to this memorable event .And thanks everyone everyone for making it really special really special!!!! thanks,

PS : check out this potpurri of images by Pako and animated by  QIA  from the concert.  Here is the link:

I really wanted to do a Winter Solstice Concert a special event marking the first day of winter  the fiestas and the countdown towards a new year in the 21st century.  And for the occasion I chose songs about the sun , the stars , winter , and the moon . This was also my 4th trio with drummer Caba Villoslada who reccomended Illdefonzo Marin on bass and an excellent choice. We kicked off with an uptempo version of Night & Day , then the Alec Wilder classic Moon and Sand .  Then  George Harrisons Here Comes the Sun , some originals of mine like Canadian Sunset , Eiffels Dance and Puesta del Soul . For Ballad we played that old Disney classic , When You Wish Upon a Star. Plus as  an unexpected suprise Manolo Perfumo sat in with us on guitar withEast of the Sun West of the Moon  and Star Eyes. We ended with a version of What A Wonderful World . Thanks to all who came ( we were 24) in spite of the rain and the cold and had a great time.  Thanks.

THE NOV 30 JAZZ VERMUT SOLO CONCERT WITH CARMELO

This 56th concert featuring Carmelo on the bansuriney was full of surprises , Due to unexpected circumstances his accompanist was unavailable, and Carmelo took the opportunity to present a spectacular solo performance event .

With pieces from classical, flamenco, Indian, and Brazilian influences. And for the last 20 minutes was accompanied by the servidor on the piano and Pako from the audience on percussion accompaniment. Because it was an afternoon event even some children were able to attend with their parents, It was a fun time and the apero not only had vermut and juice but pizza as well as olives and frutos secos. The 55th November 16 Concert with Jazz Vermut Trio 2

Wow!!!! In the midst of a week of heavy rains ,the sun came shining out just long enough for 21 people and 3 musicians to enjoy a lovely Jazz Vermut. This group had Javi Bermudez on bass and as well as  regular to the the concerts,  Caba Villoslada . With the host on piano, the trio did a diverse set  that included original arrangements of  A Love Supreme, La Vida Breve and Sunny . I was suprised by the turnout and happy to welcome so many people who came for the first time . The synergy was amazing and everyone enjoyed the Vermut and the coversation that folloowed after the concert.   So much so that i will looking foward to presenting trio #3 with Cadiz jazz legend Manolo Parfumo , not on guitar , but on bass . And of course with an all new repetoire for the occasion.    Also i would like to remind you of a very special concert on Nov 30 by  Carmelo. Check the Events sectionon the Home page for more info. Thanks again to all who came and made the music happen ,

JAZZ VERMUT TRIO 1 NOV 2

House Concert 54. The first Jazz Vermut mas a suprising success .  I am happy that there was so much positve response to it  with 26 people in attendence , The trio consisted of very talented musicians  from the neighborhood with Tony Barbara on the bass and Caba Villoslada on drums . The set started  with a sparkling version of Miles Davis 's ¨Solar ¨. Other  highlights  was the classic ballad  Body and Soul, my original bossa ¨Soul Scents ,¨ and for a final , Bob Dylans ¨Like a Rolling Stone¨ with help from Danny in the audience   helping out on piano while I  a played a little melodica .  I am  also happy that people stayed after for the Vermut and got to hang out  . Next Vermut is on the 16th with Javier Bermudez on bass  and some new tunes as well . Thankls again to all who came . Much appreciated as always.

This was the 53rd concert and a very special one at . It´s very rare that I host a trio . it´s somewhat of a luxery  for a small house concert but well worth it . With an appreciative audience of 19 , it was well worth the effort. Joining me was Javier Bermudez bass and Caba Villoslada on drums .  It was a fun swinging night. Since it was the eve of the equinox we played  songs like Blue Moon , Moon Dance and Moon River . Ellington's classic  ,Im beginning to see the Light kicked things off . A few of my originals were also heard such as Dod's Blues and Dennis Kneads Knots.  Theme for Ernie  a beautiful Ballad and Wes Montgomery`s Road Song .  A really fun evening .
