AUGUST 30. THE LAST SUMMER CONCERT WITH DENILSON SANTOS

Well we started the the Summer Concerts Together and we Finished it together.  And all with the same excitement and energy that we began with. And I can tell you is hard to come by . Bands start off fresh and little by little the excitement wears off. But that´s impossible playing with Javier and Dennilson. In the end we played 3 of the 8 concerts together , the begging the middle and the end . Same repertoire but each time  with a fresh feel. Ok there were 2 last minute surprises , Duke Ellington's ¨Things Ain´t What They Used To Be ¨ and Dolly Parton´s classic ¨9 to 5 ¨  a fitting tribute to the grand ole opera  lady who  although rooted in country music defied all the catagories that they tried pinning on her .  Also a big thanks to everyone ,  the wonderful people who came and paid , the other musicians , as  well as those  behind the scenes, that helped with the videos and the grass roots publicity…….THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

August 23 . The Piano Trio House Concert that became a keyboard Bongo Duo in the Terace

Silly me. After the success of the  last concert with the new trio of course I had  the ¨ganas ¨to repeat it as soon as possible . So maybe it was a mistake to program the same group back to back, or maybe it was just August . Never the less, 7 people wanted to come including 2 families ( don´t charge children ) and i sadly cancelled the concert . It something that doesn´t happen often , but it does happen . So at the last minute i offered these 7 people and thier families to listen to me play  at a nearby terrace , for only the cost of the drinks. In the end one person came  and they heard a wonderful duo .of myself with Bosco Prada on bongos . Besides the 1 person, were the regulars on the terrace who also enjoyed the music it was a pleasent afternoon and a chance to experience   sunset in Cadiz .   Check out  a sample of the duo by clicking the link below.

The Aug 16 Super Summer Trio 2 Concert with Ignaccio Cabesa

This was great!! This was exicting !!! Working with new musicians for first time is for me really something special. And not only was I playing with Ignassi Cabesa for the very first time but i was trying some of my compositions for the first time .  Like my piece ¨Cendrillon ¨which evokes the spirit and influence of the great Bill Evans . Even though  I wrote this in Paris about 11 years ago it was still a debut piece.  It was a cool jazz set with a few up tempo burners, like ¨New Tune included as well.   But I must admit that Cendrillon set the tone for the evening with tunes like ¨Alice In Wonderland¨ , Calling You, Life Like,  Sunny …….. and ending  with  a fun tune that i call ¨Tanzen Mit Miss Glitzen. Itr was a pleasure playing to an enthsiastic audience and an pleasure to play to play with Ignaccio and Javi again . Hopefully , this Fall.

AUGUST 2ND WITH THE SUPER SUMMER PIANO, BASS, AND BONGO TRIO

This was really a suprise session  .When I heard that our drummer couldn't make it on short notice I  called for help . So with the help of Bosco Prada on bongos the show went on, and  with 50 % new material. Standards like, Somewhere, , Coming Home Baby , Theme for Ernie  as well as my compositions Blue Tune and Clements Lament . It was really nice to see everybody and quite a few people for the first time . Here is a snippet of the video.  Good to see quite a few people stuck around for the wine , Cruz Campo, and refrescos  afterwards

THE RETURN OF THE SUPER SUMMER TRIO . THE JULY 26TH , 2026 CONCERT

It was a month or so since we last played and saw each other and thi gig came on the heels of Spain's triumphant victory in  the World Cup and everyone was in a great mood. We played the a set very similar to the first . But as is the very nature of jazz improv , the music always came out fresh , different . Also some new songs were swapped and added . We played my Swing song , News Daze , Ellington's , Beginning to see the Light , and that old standard Speak Low .  It was a full house and the evening included some brilliant moments by Brazilian drummer Denilson Santos, and Javier Bermúdez on the bass.  . We were constantly encouraged by a wonderful audience who brought out the best in us and the music . Thank you one and all!!!

JULY 19TH WORLD CUP CONCERT THAT NEVER WAS

Who would have known ?????  Spain was in the Finals and the World Cup final kick off was at 9 pm sharp in Spain . No way I could compete with that .  With massive cancelations the day before in anticipation of the championship  final match between Spain and Argentina , it was a no brainer to postpone the concert. In the final hour after midnight , Ferran Torres scored the winning goal  and España fue alegre !!!!!!

THE 3rd SUMMER CONCERT WITH BONGOS AND BOSCO PRADA July 12th, 2026

My intention was to have Concerts every Sunday but it´s not always easy to find people who i can play with on a moments notice . Bosco Prada is one of the few!!!!   We have been playing on and off for at least 5 years now and is no stranger to , Conciertos Caseros . And I am not alone in my opinion of this not so common combination of piano and bongos. We had a lovey audience of 23 people who loved the music as well. As always bit was a mix of pop, standards, and of course Beatles songs . Really appreciated everyone who came !!!!!!

THE 2ND SUMMER CONCERT WITH YVONNE WALTER June 28th , 2026

A very special treat to do accompany the Dutch singer Yvonne Walter . At 79 years she still knows how to deliver a song  with conviction singing songs for the Great American SongBook , like Cole Porter, Jobim , Standards like Nancy with the Laughing Face, Ellington´s , Beginning to see the Light . It was  just delightful with an appreciative audience of  20 appreciative souls.  I hope maybe  to play with her again, but i Don´t know where , Don´t Know When:, We´ll Be Together Again !!!! Will keep you posted . Thanks again and enjoy the video.

The January 2026 Sound and Image Concert with QIA and special guest Valterri Laurell

it was the 60th Concert. I had planned on doing it as a solo piano performance with AI images of Manolo Quintanelles aka QIA, and I wanted to a concert with PaKo Caceroles but  it had to be cancelled  and then all of a sudden it was the new year !! 2026  and i thought if not now, when but something wonderful happened right after King´s Day  ther Finnish composer, arranger and guitarist knocked on my door inquiring about the piano , we started talking , the next he came with his guitar and said ¨want to do a house concer¨and not only did he play wonderfull he offered to read add his artistry to the QIA images  and so in less than a week we put together the house concert #60  and we rehearsed and it sounded really good  and the images worked perfect with the music . Then came the concert , and we got off to a slow start and some tecnical problems , and we didnt get to  play the last videos so we continued the concert  and  ther playing was strong , and then another magical moment came when  PaKo was spontaneously joining  us on the caceroles (enamel pots) adding something wonderful to the mix  and creating a really cool trio!! And  through all this, the audience was wonderful because in spite of the difficulties they loved the images and the spontanaity and its one those things that makes listening and playing  music live a very special event. Thanks to everyone who came to this memorable event .And thanks everyone everyone for making it really special really special!!!! thanks,

PS : check out this potpurri of images by Pako and animated by  QIA  from the concert.  Here is the link:

I still can't believe it, but with your love for music and encouragement, we did 60 concerts.  Wonder music with wonderful musicians  and some really Bright Moments!!  Gracias!!!!!!!
